Providing a better habitat

Ongoing construction continues with traffic diversions on Clippert Street, Vine Street and Saginaw Highway. Did you know that the Montgomery Drain is a nearly 300-acre tributary of the Red Cedar River? The overall goal of this drain project will clean pollutants from the stormwater discharge. An additional feature of this project is an innovative stream restoration (thanks to a grant from the Michigan Department of Natural resources) in an urban storm sewer system that will be able to provide a new aquatic habitat for fish and wildlife.
