Cleaning the Red Cedar River

Work continues on the Montgomery Drain infrastructure this week. Expect some closures on parts of Clippert Street, north of Michigan Avenue. The Drain’s watershed is about 80% impervious. This makes it the most polluted drain in Ingham County. Because of this surface, contaminated stormwater runoff from any storm event is deposited into the Red Cedar River in an hour or less. The new design will manage and clean 95.7% of all storm events.
